Cameroon revived their chances of reaching the last eight of the Africa Cup of Nations after fighting back to beat Zambia 3-2 in a thrilling win.
Jacob Mulenga tapped in from close range to put Zambia in the lead before goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene gifted Geremi an equaliser in the 68th minute. Samuel Eto'o fired in a shot to put Cameroon 2-1 up but Christopher Katongo converted a penalty to restore parity. Substitute striker Mohamadou Iddrisou sealed the win with a late header. The result means both Cameroon and Zambia can still qualify for the quarter-finals ahead of their last group matches on Thursday. After losing their opening game to Gabon, Cameroon could have been eliminated if they had lost Sunday's game but the 2008 runners-up showed the resilience of the highest ranked African team to win the game. However Rigobert Song continued to showed worrying frailties with the pace of James Chamanga causing problems for veteran Indomitable Lions defender. It was Song's botched headed clearance from a Felix Katongo's looping cross that contributed to Cameroon falling behind in the eighth minute. Goalkeeper Carlos Kameni brilliantly clawed the ball away, only for it to fall in the path of the onrushing Mulenga, who swept it into the net.
Three weeks out would see the pair miss league games against Bolton, Aston Villa, Manchester United and Chelsea, as well as the FA Cup fourth round tie at Stoke.

The Spain midfielder, who missed three matches with a hamstring injury, scored his 10th league goal of the season in the 28th minute after a neat one-two with Eduardo.
The Spain international scored the opening goal in the 28th minute - his 10th in the Barclays Premier League - and then started the move which led to Fran Merida finishing off Bolton 12 minutes from time.
Arsenal complete Campbell signing
He also had justifiable claims for at least one penalty, possibly two, in the first half and was the major inspiration behind the Gunners' performance.
Fabregas has missed Arsenal's last three matches with a hamstring injury but his comeback delighted Wenger.
"If you watched the game it is difficult to say how much we have missed him but you don't need to explain to anyone that it is important," said the Frenchman.
After completing his move back to the Gunners, Campbell said: "I'm so happy to be rejoining Arsenal. I have many great memories from being here before and still have many friends at the club. I've been working very hard at the Arsenal training ground, I feel really good at the moment and I'm ready to give my all. We're in a strong position and I want to help Arsenal be successful this season."
Ghana's Asamoah Gyan converted a penalty with the last kick of the match, but it was not enough to prevent the Elephants from progressing to the quarter-finals.
England captain John Terry will face a charge of using racist language, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) says. Terry is alleged to have used racist language towards Queens Park Rangers' Anton Ferdinand, during Chelsea's 1-0 defeat at Loftus Road on 23 October. The Chelsea captain was questioned under caution by police in November and a file on the matter was sent to the CPS at the beginning of December. The 30-year-old has always denied making racist comments. Alison Saunders, chief crown prosecutor for London, said: "I have today advised the Metropolitan Police that John Terry should be prosecuted for a racially aggravated public order offence following comments allegedly made during a football match between Queen's Park Rangers and Chelsea on 23 October. "The decision was taken in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors and, after careful consideration of all the evidence, I am satisfied there is sufficient evidence for a realistic prospect of conviction and it is in the public interest to prosecute this case." Mr Terry is due to appear before West London Magistrates' Court on 1 February. zakłady bukmacherskie
In the wake of the eight-match ban handed to Luis Suarez for racially abusing Patrice Evra, Professional Footballers' Association chief executive Gordon Taylor tells BBC Radio 5 live that education may be needed for overseas players who come to the UK about "what is acceptable on and off the pitch". Liverpool have accused the FA of being "determined to bring charges against Luis Suarez, even before interviewing him". The club say they are "surprised" and "disappointed" and continue to back Suarez, who has 14 days to appeal. sts
Steve Kean is convinced he will celebrate Christmas as Blackburn Rovers manager - a prime example of the optimism that sustains the Scot in these dark days at Ewood Park. And it was pitch black for Kean on Tuesday as Bolton Wanderers traded places with Blackburn at the bottom of the Premier League with a win that relieved pressure on their own boss Owen Coyle but shifted almost unbearable strain on to his counterpart. Fortuna Kean started his night with a plea for a show of unity from all with Blackburn's best interests at heart, only to see this fragile attempt at a truce fractured in five minutes when Mark Davies set Bolton on the way to a vital 2-1 win. It ended with Kean defying logic by insisting that he will stay in his job long enough to fashion a revival as furious protests provided background noise to his words, with hundreds of supporters gathering outside the stadium's reception area demanding his sacking.
